MOVE FREELY WITH LUKE COURTIER

Luke Courtier, Published at Monocle Magazine

Luke Moves Freely in Mendes jeans, styled with Emilio striped shirt and Ravi suede jacket

Your London day in three stops?
Daunt Books for something to read; St John’s or Lita for dinner and Bobbie’s or The Hart for something to drink.

Your work takes you across London and often further afield, what is a lesson you've learned about preparing for a day that may bring the unexpected?
Iron ahead. Engage your core. Maybe pack a steamer too. Embrace surprise!

How would you describe your personal style in three words?
Unstructured, navy tailoring.

What's your most irrational style rule?
Wool will always surprise you!

What, to you, is ultimate proof of a good pair of jeans?
They sit well above the hip, straight legged and never skinny. And you can move in them uninhibitedly which is probably most important!

What does ‘moving freely’ mean to you?
To gesture with purpose and abandon, to think with alacrity, and walk with tremendous speed.

Where are you heading after this?
I’m going straight to Lisbon where Monocle hosts our annual quality of life conference. It moves city every year and is a fascinating gathering of an incredible engaged and optimistic global community.
