Our Design Philosophy

Modernist philosophy & art-deco aesthetics elevated through craft.

Craft-Deco is our unique design language that draws on Rio de Janeiro’s mid-century modernist architecture and art-deco aesthetics, popularised by architects Roberto Burle-Marx and Oscar Niemeyer & reimagined through the lens of luxury.

We reinterpreted the simple frescobol bat, an object of play and joy, through craft  using a rich mix of woods. Handcrafted in Rio de Janeiro and first introduced in Le Club 55 in the south of France, our frescobol bats have become a symbol of our unique design philosophy and inform our ready-to-wear collections to this day.

Honest Craftsmanship

Prioritising function and a commitment to natural materials, artisanal techniques and the humantouch in design

Rhythmic Expression

Energetic prints and rich textures inspired by art deco motifs and the curves of Rio’s coastline.

Seamless Living

Catering to transient living, we are inspired by modernist architectural principles, blurring boundaries between indoors and outdoors, sea and city, beach and bar.
